What I do, in plain language

Think of the cloud as a city. Developers are the builders: they want to put up a new house, or even a whole new neighbourhood. But before they can build, they need roads, sewers, electricity and water. I design and lay that shared infrastructure, safely and with room to grow. That way, the developers can do what they do best: build.

What I work on

Migration
Moving applications and infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
Optimisation
Improving existing cloud environments on security, cost, performance and structure.
Implementation
Designing and setting up new cloud environments.

How I work

As an architect, I design the solution. But I don't hand over a design and leave: I work side by side with your own engineers while we build it. Knowledge transfer is part of the work from day one, not a training session at the end.

  • We build it together. Your engineers write and review the infrastructure code with me, so they know every part of the platform and why it is set up that way.
  • Everything is in code and on paper. The infrastructure code, the pipelines and the design decisions live in your own repository, not in my head.
  • Your team takes over step by step. Over the course of the project your engineers take the lead on changes, and I move to reviewing and advising.

When the project is done, your engineers understand the platform and can run and extend it themselves, without depending on me.
