I am Jan Baggen, a freelance cloud architect in Amsterdam. I design and build secure platforms on Microsoft Azure.
What I do
I help organisations with cloud migration, optimisation and implementation on Microsoft Azure. My focus is on network and security: platforms that are safe by design and built as infrastructure as code, so they are repeatable and easy for teams to take over.
Background
I have worked in internet infrastructure since 1996. I started out building my own internet provider, from a single server and a handful of customers to a datacenter suite in Amsterdam with thousands of customers. Since then I have advised many organisations on cloud, network and security.
What all those years taught me: I understand infrastructure from the network up to the cloud, and I can explain complex technology in plain language to people who are not experts. I work in Dutch and English.
